A light-colored, fine-grained igneous rock consisting primarily of alkali feldspar together with pyroxene minerals. This specimen’s characters are:
– a basic volcanic rock
-dominantly alkali feldspar and pyroxene minerals, 3% intermediate
volcanic glass, 14% weak minerals (iddingsite, calcite and brown
-belongs to the mapping unit Tertiary, “Tia” on the Morton 1:250000 map sheet, Geological Survey of Queensland, 1980.
