Scoria from the geologically recent eruption (7200 years ago) of Mt Napier, Victoria.
This specimen is from Mt Napier, Victoria which was the site of the most recent eruption in the Western Victorian Volcanic Plains some 7200 years ago. This is so recent that the sound it made-Murroa- has been passed down in local aboriginal spoken history.
